Happy new episode day! This one has been a great episode to edit for you all, it’s so good to hear northern voices on the podcast again. This episode focuses on the importance of local journalism and features someone who I’ve listened too on the radio for years (I was fangirling quite a bit during the recording if I’m honest!).
It was an absolute pleasure being part of the Empoword Journalism Young Journalists Panel last night - so many great questions from people in the audience. I always find its nice to give back some advice especially for those starting out in the industry.

Happy Saturday and happy new EXCLUSIVE episode day! We are so happy to be sharing it with you and we hope you find it useful.
This week has been A WEEK. It’s been a bit stressy and I’ve felt really messy and unorganised. For example, I missed a driving lesson because I stayed late at work and forgot. Then I double booked myself on Friday - guess who had to be on the Empoword Journalism panel while in the middle of getting her roots done? This gal.
But while everything felt up in the air, the only thing I focussed on was my work, while everything around me felt like a big mess, I just put all my energy into work. And it must have paid off because I’ve been hitting view targets and getting shout outs in big corporate emails - which is VERY cool.
Being able to write about what I enjoy (tv and travel) is a massive perk of being a trends writer and I think it is showing off in my writing, so I’m so happy it’s getting picked up.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE NEW EPISODE 🚨
It’s here! We thought we would give you all the first listen as a thank you for your support. We are kicking off season 3 nattering about local journalism, how to get into it and why it’s still so important.
